Entrevista: "El setup no te hace mejor jugador, pero sí te lo pone más fácil"

Interview: "Your setup doesn't make you a better player, but it does make it easier for you"

To kick off the interview section of the blog, we spoke with a regular player in our community about his routine, his setup, and the advice he wished he had received when he started.

How did you get into this?

I started playing on an old laptop, without even a mouse, everything with the trackpad. It wasn't until a couple of years later that I put together my first proper setup: a basic mouse and a membrane keyboard. With that, I already felt like I had leveled up.

What has changed most in your way of playing since then?

Consistency. When I started treating it with a bit more routine—even if it was 30-40 minutes a day—the improvement was much more noticeable than when I did sporadic marathons.

How would you describe your current setup?

Simple but functional. A mouse with good precision, a mechanical keyboard that doesn't fail me in long games, and headphones that let me hear positional sound well. I prefer that to having RGB lights everywhere and then the performance not being up to par.

What advice would you give to someone who is starting?

Don't obsess over having the best equipment from day one. It's better to invest little by little in what you're really going to use, and above all, don't neglect things like a comfortable chair or good posture.

Is there anything you would change about your setup if you could start from scratch?

I would invest sooner in a good monitor stand and in organizing the cables. When you have a clean space and everything at the correct height, it makes a difference in concentration during long games.

What do you enjoy most about this world?

The community. In the end, beyond winning or losing, what hooks you is sharing the experience with other people who are just as passionate.
